The Mystic Washer® is manufactured Water Works Connection, Inc. The Florida-based company was founded by a pressure washing contractor with over a quarter-century of experience.

For 28 years, Clayton Boyd was known throughout the Chicago area as 'The Sweeping Doctor.' In addition to parking area sweeping, Boyd's company also provided a host of other pavement-related services, including power washing. In addition, he was known for finding ways to improve upon existing, standard production machines his company purchased and used.

Mystic Washer Animation Although his Chicago-based company provided complete pressure washing and graffiti removal services, Boyd was disappointed in all the pressure washers he tried for flat surface cleaning.

Boyd was determined to use his many years of experience in fabricating and modifying equipment to design one that was more efficient. Boyd also wanted his flat surface cleaner to be able to be used safely amidst crowds of people. He also wanted a machine that excelled at typical wand applications, not just be a flat surface-capable machine.

"Wands are difficult to operate," says Boyd, "especially after several hours. Even well-trained employees tended to leave streaks, some of which weren't noticeable until several weeks after the job was completed. We found ourselves fielding customer complaints long after a job was done and billed.

"All the pressure washers on the market also had greatly diminished power in areas where long pressure hoses were required. And, due to dangerous overspray concerns, we could only run our teams when pedestrian traffic was zero. For the most part, we could only pressure wash at night with lights, even though many property managers wanted us out during the day to show they were cleaning their properties."

Boyd tried snap-in commercial flat washers that hooked up to traditional pressure washers, but found those didn't do the job. "They were cumbersome to move and operate," says Boyd, "and required time-wasting effort to move from flat washer back to the wand for rinsing and spot power-cleaning. Plus, moving the water and pressure hoses invariably required two people on the job at all times."

Boyd's Mystic Washer® is the culmination of years of research and development by Boyd after he moved to Florida some years ago. "The current design was used extensively by my Florida-based power washing company in-house prior to being developed for the commercial marketplace," says Boyd. "The 'tweaks' we have made in the design make the machine virtually trouble- and breakdown-free. You will find there is no better commercial flat surface washer available anywhere, at any price."

Mystic Washer Cleaning Sidewalk

The Mystic Washer® may be operated during the day amidst pedestrians and onlookers. Operation is very user-friendly and requires only one person on the jobsite. The machine is so easy to use that operation by female employees is no problem whatsoever. As you can see in the unretouched photo to the right, the Mystic Washer® cleans astonishingly well.

"Your management team or clients will be amazed at how uniformly clean their sidewalks and other flat surface areas will be cleaned. You will be amazed at how quickly the machine can perform the job. Many of your clients will want you to pressure wash during the day, since it is safe to do so and your presence lets customers know the property is kept clean."

Another problem Boyd set out to solve was the elimination of psi loss due to hose length. Because the motor is mounted onto the Mystic Washer® itself, the machine actually cleans at its rated 4,000 psi. That makes both flat surface and wand cleaning faster and easier. "Some contractors like keeping the wand onboard all the time," says Boyd. "Others prefer hooking it up at the end of a job, for rinsing soap off and for any spot nozzle cleaning needed to get gum up.

"For convenience, we provide our units with a 15' hose permanently attached. This is plenty for rinsing purposes and minimizes psi loss. For more distant cleaning needs, just attach the additional 35' hose that's provided with every Mystic Washer® unit.

"Although most people buy the Mystic Washer® for its superior flat-surface cleaning capabilities, simply turning a dial diverts power to the wand. You can also quickly lower the pressure output for both wand and flat surface cleaning. Because the machine is so much easier to maneuver than traditional two-wheel pressure washers, our customers tell us they prefer to use their Mystic Washer® for all their wand-based cleaning, as well.

"We are committed to continuing to develop leading-edge products at Water Works Connection, Inc. You can count on our manufacturing team to continually seek out the best in materials, designs and production methods. In addition, as a long-time contractor, I know what it costs to have a machine down. Our machines will continue to be as trouble-free as possible, and we'll have the parts necessary to get you back operational, typically within 24 hours of when you order them."

"Mystic Washer® systems are in use by a wide variety of organizations. Theme parks love them, as do municipal users. I have no doubt that the Mystic Washer® cleaning system is the best way to take a current pressure washing business to the next level. It is also an outstanding way to add a new profit center to many existing business types, including pavement maintenance contractors, janitorial companies, sweeping contractors and many others. Need a job? There are few opportunities to make significant immediate income that are better than starting a business with a Mystic Washer® system."
